Have seen this cars rear end in back of a house i pass on my work delivery runs, of course i'm always looking for Volvos, still had plates on it but it hadn't seemed to have been moved in a while. Anyway, i knock on the front door, 20 year old or so answers the door. I ask if the Volvo is for sale, he says i'll ask my dad, comes back and says, $500. dollars. We were going to put it in the local pennysaver for sale. Went around to the back of the house and look at this Beautiful silver car w/dark grey leather, auto w/106k miles. Right front was hit, the kid hit a car with it, hood and fender need replacement, no air bag deployment. I didn't even get the car home yet and i knew there was a 92 745 same color in a pick and pull i frequent. Called to make sure the donor was not sent to the crusher and the guy that works in the boneyard said "the crusher arrived yesterday, you better get here asap to get what you need". Went thursday luch time, luckily i have a two hour lunch break, pulled the hood and fender, get this, $56.25 for BOTH pieces. These were brand new Volvo replacement parts as this car i could tell was renewed in the front end, i had previosly removed both new headlight assemblies for my 91 745t. Couldn't get over how the hood laid almost flat in the back of my 745t, just like owning a pickup truck... Had to jumpstart the 93 as it had sat for a month since the accident, started right up with a jump box and sounded great. The father said they got the car from his in-laws who bought it new and the car was always Volvo serviced, i noticed a new coil and knock sensor, car has regina-rex so it has thet odd looking coil. Only thing i noted as a potential prob is the SRS light is on on the dash, was thinking it could be a ground problem as the inner fender is crunched around the battery, i know one of those grounding blocks is located in the upper corner of that area. Once i get it home and straightened back out i'll check the grounds, anyone have other ideas/suggestions... Any way, cant wait to get this baby home, told my wife we will sell her 89 244 she has had about 4 years and she will love the 944.....Tom Wasney 27940aholic
