Hello everyone, My name is Alexander and Im new to the forum and the Volvo 240. I just traded my old Ford Ranger for a 1986 Manual 240 DL and am very pleased with my new ride. I think its one of the best decision Ive done in my life. I found a letter in the glove compartment from the original owner with a little history of the car. It seems it belonged to a girls mother that passed away and I have decided to bring it back to life. It will be my project car that I wish to turn into the kind of ride that will turn heads.
I really like the car though it does have its problems. I hope you guys here will be able to steer me in the right direction.

This is just some of the work I need done: Front Rotors Replaced, Master Cylinder, Valve Cover Gasket. Charge $511 parts and labor.

My friend who works a little on his own cars every once and awhile says thats to much money and he will help me to replace the mentioned parts. What do you guys think? Is this a pretty easy thing to do with little mechanics skills.

I figure with the money I save on the labor from the mechanics bill, I would like to get some pretty good quality parts to replace these.
This will be the beginning of the restoration for the 240.
