Fuel relay 200 1986

I recently replaced the prepump in the fuel tank and it helped to quiet the main pump. Today I tried to start the car and it didn't want to turn over. I tried a number of times and then let it sit. When I tried again I really put the gas down continuously until it finally turned over. It starts fine now. I've heard that you should replace the fuel pump relay because it can get worn out after letting a prepump go for some time. I would like to replace it regardless just for good measure but the one I find in my car is grey and different from the (white) ones I find on the internet. Are there really two different types?

I did however take out the bulb failure relay last night and thought maybe a wire was loosened in the process but didn't find anything. (My brake lights are not working and I need to register the car, I figure it's either the relay or the contact to the driver side tail light since I use to have to jiggle it to get the lights to work right. I still don't have the upper tail lights working on the board.)
