I have been having some weird rear wheel vibrations on the drivers side. When I drive at speeds between 55 and 75, and drive on roads that curve to the right, the car shakes badly. I do not really feel it through the steering wheel, so I doubt it is a front end problem. I was in a minor collision where my rear driver side door got hit and the back hubcap got knocked off, but that was about 6 months before this problem surfaced. The car is a 1990 740GLE 16 valve with 206000 miles on it. The wheels are aluminium alloy. I did the following work to it, and the problem is still there:
1: Changed the driver side rear wheel bearing and differential fluid
2: Switched driver side tire to passenger side
3: Replaced rear brake rotors and pads. Fixed parking break
4: Got wheels balanced (made it worse)
I am going to replace the calipers, since they seemed very rusted, especually around the piston seal, and the passenger side seemed a bit tight.
Can someone please help me? The only think I think it could be now is something in the suspension, but I do not know where... This problem is driving me nuts, since the car is in good shape otherwise and I do not know if it is safe vibrating like this.
Thanks
