Hi all. I found this site after searching and saw a ton of testimonials saying how great you all are. I've got a '91 740 Wagon (non turbo) that has been having some issues with the rear lights for a little while.
It started after I was rear-ended by an SUV and the rear hatch and driver's light assembly was banged up.
The problem was originally that the passenger side tail light assembly, which wasn't damaged in the accident, stopped working as a running light. Reverse and turn signals still worked with no problems. Just no running, and no brake.
I took the assembly appart and noticed that there was a single brown wire with a yellow stripe disconnected from the lower socket mount. I hooked it back up and now the tail light itself works. The brake light still does not function.
Add to this, now both of the running lights stay lit even when the car is off. What would make that 12volt line stay hot to keep those bulbs lit?
I'm planning on replacing the damaged light assembly soon myself. If anybody has a wiring diagram for these lights they could link to it would be extremely helpful.
Thanks a ton in advance!
