960 no start

I have a 960 and the other day, it would not start with the key and at the same time it would not come out of gear, I turned the key a few times and it finally started and would come out of gear.

There has got to be one thing that was causing it not to start and at the same time would not come out of gear even when my foot was on the brake.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
