My car is developing a significant shimmy when braking. It is particularly noticeable when gently applying the brakes at any speed over ten miles per hour. I had the front disks turned and new pads installed about 5 k miles ago when there was a slight shimmy. That seemed to take care of the problem. (The car now has 149000 miles on it) I have searched the forum for "shimmy" and there seems to be a lot of discussion about repairing front end components but many of the shimmy problems occured in normal driving conditions not just during braking. Should I be looking at replacing the rotors and pads as a first step or should I be looking at the suspension?
Any help is appreciated
