Replacing just one piston in a D24T Diesel 700

Hi all:

What's the general consensus of replacing just one piston in a D24T rebuild? I know weight is a factor for proper balance. And ,above deck protrusion, for compression. The remaining 5 Pistons are Mahle. And the replacement would be a Kobleschmidt.

At $74.00 a pop, I'm trying to keep cost down, but not at the expense of foolishness.

One had broken rings and subsequent ring groove damage. The other 5 are fine.

Thanks
