Vacuum advance 1800 1969

I'm wondering how usefull the vacuum advance is on a Bosch JFUR-4 distributor. The car has Pertronix ignition also. The engine is a modified B20E with SU HS6 carbs on the 'old style' volvo intake manifold.

Presently , I'm running a vacuum advance hose from a plastic tee on the brake vacuum hose. The 'old style' Volvo intake manifold doesn't have but one vacuum hole in it except for that 3/8" brake vacuum hose, so that's why I put a tee in it for the vacuum advance hose.

Do I really need that vacuum advance advance hooked up?
