I have very rough idle in my 940 Wagon and I believe the problem may be the Flow Meter as I have removed it and the car tends to start better, but it is hard to know for sure since the poor idle is not always consistent.
I actually have TWO of the exact same 940s - one a wagon and one a sedan. I am considering switching the two flow meters (with exact same part numbers) to see if idle is improved in the wagon. Then I can be sure that I need to replace it. Has anyone done this before and what should I be careful of when I change them? Is there a chance I will ruin either of the flow meter or another electrical part of the engine idle/start mechanisms?
I read the FAQ on updating the ECU E-Prom chip which may effect idle and I will check with my mechanic about that. It may have not been updated.
Thanks for your input.
