Trailer Wiring. 900 1991

I have a 1991 960 that is in immaculate condition that I have owned for the past 2 years. I have fitted an aftermarket towbar and genuine Volvo 850 towbar wiring kit that connects inbetween the rear bulb failure relay and then goes to the plug. My question, on the dashboard I have a warning light with LH & RH indicator marking - next to lambda, some have a picture of a caravan. There is no wiring that connects that light to the trailer socket on my car and being fussy about these things, I would like to connect it up. It would be handy to work also as it will tell you if a light is out and make sure the trailer plug is connected. Can anyone tell me if they have this connected on their car and what it connected where? I have removed the instrument panel and can put the wire into the plug for the light, but then I have no idea where to send the wire from there.
