This is a 911!! Can anyone out there tell me the difference (If ANY!!) between a Classic 240 and a 240 Classic and a 240 Classic Limited Edition??? Is there a difference in value??
WHY THE IGNORANCE?? This is 240Dennis's lovely wife - I guess you can call me 240Tater if the moniker is not already in use. 240Dennis is out of town and incommunicado. I turn to you in desperation, because he is always bragging about the wisdom found on this site. I am ashamed to say that I have never before visited, but beg your indulgance just the same.
WHY THE EMERGENCY??I have fallen in love with a Brick wagon that is on an on-line auction, which naturally ends at 8:00 pm TONITE!!
Against my better judgment and my irrational infatuation for my little 1989 5-speed Brick, 240Dennis sold it last week. (Sigh) I don't really get to complain, because he is the one who has to work on them - it's not my area at all.
So, you see I am down to one Brick in the yard, (not the one I drive) and I am pining for my lost love(s). It is a rarity to find such a clean brick on this auction site, and I actually got to see the car yesterday.
WHAT I SAW: The word CLASSIC in the same script is under the 240 signature on the back of the car. There is NO numbering plate on the dashboard indicating that it is # 243/1600 etc. The interior is NOT leather, but there is a kind of wood outline on part of the dash. The word CLASSIC does NOT appear in the the CarFax report.
SO WHAT GIVES? How does one decide whether the car is a CLASSIC- or even what that is?? How/why/when would this ever become a collectible car. I would be ever so grateful if anyone can help me, especially if that help could come before 7:45 pm.
(Being new to this site AND ignorant, I couldn't navigate the search stuff. please forgive me if this has already been discussed. (But direct me to the thread!)
With Hopeful Heart,
240Tater
Hey, if we get the car, I will be happy to post a pic!!
