trouble trying to seperate and remove squirrel cage end of heater motor assembly 200

Maybe I missed this in the site but I looked and didn't see it.

' 85 244 dl - have right side dash disassembled trying to get blower assembly cover off squirell cage end and can't get it out. Manual starts with heater assembly out and laying in the car ..no help (read that as "worthless!")......
Squirell cage has come loose from blower motor shaft and is screeching very loadly. I'm trying to get to squirell cage to figger out how to reattach squirel cage to motor output shaft.
Side question ..... can the squirrel cage be reattached or do you just go the junkyard and get a replacement where the output shaft/squirrel cage bond is still tight?

All the clips'/ output connector dudcting etc. are detached but I can't get enough clearance between the dash support on the left of the glove box and the squirell cage cover to get the cover completely off to get into the squirrel cage ...what am I missing please? Or, does the whole dash/center console have to be disassembled to get the whole heater assembly out?

While it's a tight clearance this can't be that hard........ I don't believe?
Thanks in advance
Steve
