Losing oil at front of block 1800

Walked out this afternoon to head to the office and Scarlett had a puddle of oil under her. Bigger than the requisite drips for a 30 year old sport coupe and enough that I decided to play it safe and call in a personal day.

Wiped up the excess where I could reach and started the engine for a short duration. Initial analysis indicates that she is leaking out of the front of the block somewhere. Never really dealt with this before, but I would guess the timing cover, near the top Hopefully, not the head gasket. Which judging by the documentation I have on CD, generally should lose coolant at the front.

At this point, I am asking for advice on how to proceed. Is the timing cover something which can be done with the block still in the car? Is this a good place to start?

This is for a 1971 1800E with a B20E configuration. Thanks.
