240 wagon rear wiper stopping in wrong position 200 1990

Dear Brickboard,

My 1990 240 DL station wagon has a rear wiper that no longer stops in the home position. It will stop pretty much where ever it feels like.

If any of you know why this is happening and could explain how it figures out where the home position is, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

By the way, a few years ago I had a related problem with the rear wiper. The problem ended up being a broken power wire where it flexed at the rear hatch hinge. I soldered in some fresh wire and it worked well ... until now.
