Everyone was so helpful when my wife was looking at (and bought) a '93 240 wagon that I thought I would post this information for anyone who's interested. www.charitycarauctions.com has an online auction where they auction charity donated cars. They currently have a '79 244DL with no bidders, item 40475M. I believe if the cars don't sell they go to the crusher. I'd hate to see that happen. If nothing else, it may be a good parts car. The '93 my wife bought came from this auction, (sorry if you bid against her, it's a really nice car). Good luck and I hope this helps someone.
