any need to clear/reset ECU? 200 1992

i have a 240 that was missing vacuum hoses on the throttle body and had a very clogged PCV system. i have no idea how long these problems existed, but the car ran fine!

ive cleaned everything up and now once it gets warm, it cycles between a very high idle and a normal idle. ive double checked my hose connections and the throttle swtich.

it was suggested to me that some ECUs will adjust to these conditions, and continue to operate as if these conditions still exist for a period of time. does the volvo ecu do this? is there a procedure for resetting the ECU? is there any situation where you would want to reset the ECU? ive read in a few posts that folks will disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to clear the ECU.
