Fuel pressure too high for SUs !?! 120-130

Finally I was able to set the timing on the newly rebuilt B20 (formerly FI and now with rebuilt SUs) so that its steady.
But now the fuel pressure seems to be too high! At first I thought it was the floats, which I checked and rechecked. There one closest to the firewall seemed to be hanging up on the check valve. After some fiddling I got them so they act right (as tested in a bowl of water) and even changed out a check valve and its seat. I set both to specs.
The problem is that the rear float bowl keeps flooding out. I always notice the cover is always covered with fuel after running the engine for a few moments, which of course always floods out and stalls.
During all these off and ons with the float bowl lids I noticed significant pressure in the line – more than I remember when I had the old B18 in there.
With the high compression rebuilt B20 in there now is it possible that there’s too much pressure created by the fuel pump for the SUs to handle? It’s always the float bowl at the end of the fuel line which gets too much fuel.
Thanks for your thoughts.
