Hi everyone --- this is a follow up to my post just below: "Possible V90 purchase --- can you guys advise? (from a long-time 949/945 DYIer)"

Well, after looking at a few local dallas cars (V90 / S90), and considering from across town a couple 960s, I found what I believe is a jewel one-owner/volvo maintained/all records '97 965 94k wagon about 250 miles south of here. $6k.

Did tons of research -- and then spoke with the owner many times, and the service advisor at his local Volvo dealership who was in charge of maintaining the car since NEW. And, B.C. (Bob Cavenaugh) from our brickboard was kind enough to inspect the car (twice!) for me, and speak to me by phone half a dozen times. THANKS, Bob. Need to find out where you like to eat dinner, sir... ;)

------------ OK, I will be flying down and picking the car up on Saturday. I expect over the next few weeks to be doing a handfull of repairs to the car right off the bat. The primary one, replacing the timing belt tensioner and roller. The service advisor at Volvo assured me the belt was changed not long ago, but "volvo recommends the tensioner/roller be replaced at the second timing belt interval" !! Man, I don't mind going back in and replacing the tensioner and roller, and belt again. Do you guys recommend I do so? Also, the evaporator was replaced on this car recently. So, no worries there.

The only other major issues on this 960 are shot sunroof gates and some front-end clunking. I expect to replace the front/rear struts (still not sure if it's a nivomat car) and any faulty front end components.

I'm going to have a ton of questions, guys. So I just wanted to thank you in advance.

I think the toughest part will be getting up to speed on the 960 series, and getting used to the more costly parts.
