Brittle Beige interior parts 200

The tan interior parts of my ,new to me, 93 wagon is all cracked. When I first got the car I was trying to figure out how the previous owner had broken so many parts, but then I quicky found out that most of the parts would snap if you even looked at them the wrong way.
Is there a problem with beige interiors? I have much older blue interiors that are not at all brittle. The other weird thing about the new car is that it has a black dash and it is perfect. It doesn't even have one crack.
