I went to look at this car today and the engine runs like a sewing machine. Smooth & quiet no smoke. There was an oil leak that the owner says just occured and he would be fixing it. Appears to be coming from lower front of engine and only leaks when the car is running. Any ideas? The car is very original. It has been repainted and had some bondo done to it and in need of some restoration currently but this is a very nice 10 foot car. There is a rip on the top corner of the front passenger seat and it appears to even have the original headliner. Most of the seals appear to be in good shape. All hardware is there and operates properly. Driver's window seemed to bind just a bit though. The undercarriage appears original with no re-done floor pans. The undercoating is flaking off and surface rust is starting to form. Inside the floorboards are still pretty good. Some surface rust evident and some small holes but nothing major. Some POR-15 should do the trick. I saw this car for sale about 2-3 years ago by the original owner in NJ. He was an old Volvo dealer that brought the car over from Sweden and maintained it throughout its life. It was sold on eBay probably about a year ago to the guy who owns it now. He has a repair shop and used car lot specializing in Volvos. The name of the place is The Auto Shop in Salisbury CT. His name is Steve. Seemed to be a really nice guy. Let me poke around the car as long as I wanted and didn't hover over me making excuses or chit-chatting. If anyone wants any more info on the car let me know and I can answer questions to the best of my ability for you. I hope someone who can restore this car gets it because it is a very nice starting point to work from. I am not as mechanically minded or deep pocketed enough to take it on at this point otherwise I would have jumped on it. Engine seems to have been rebuilt and painted. Looks historically correct to me. Glass fuel pump dome, 6-volt electrical, radiator shade and chain still present. Tires were weak tread wise with some light cracking here and there but were holding air and would be servicable for short driving until the new owner put some wide white walls on it. Good luck!
