I am a proud owner of an 85 Volvo 760 Turbo wagon, and even though my headlights and taillights have given me reason for possible 'buyers remorse' I still love it. This is how I found myself here...looking for info, and also for some feedback from other owners. But I found myself WRITING this because of the sites introduction. I am that "gal behind the counter with the tip jar-making your espresso treats" and I would just like to say that I bought the Volvo I have wanted since I was 15 WITH that tip money!! Giving that extra 25 cents to someone making barely min. wage is offering them the gratitute for the service, not the eye contact, and if the service is exceptional, then maybe they can save up enough to buy a nice Volvo to drive to work. Think of that next time you begin to wince at the sight of a tip jar on the counter. You just contributed in making someone who makes your life a little easier, have it a little easier too. I may not have the exact model, year and colour that I dreamed of 10 years ago, but its a Volvo! Now I can finally use that Volvo keychain my father bought me when he could only afford to buy me a Datsun Hatchback. Tipping is a good thing. I should be proof of thst to you. If being a Volvo owner means that I must now act like a penny pinching yuppy, then I best be selling him back to one of those types. Maybe next I write it will be more on the technical side. In the meantime, I hope that the webmaster who wrote the intro will reads this and consider how it might make a Volvo owner stereotyped into that rather unfortunate category...
