smoking turbo? 900

I have a 1993 940 TURBO Station Wagon. Lately i've been noticing, if my car idols for about 10 minutes i see white smoking coming from the muffler. It smells like oil. I returned it to the shop i bought it from, and they seemed to believe that it's either leaky turbo seals or leaking valve seats. It does not smoke while running, only if i let it sit and idle for about 5-10 minutes. The car runs very good, i have know problems there. Is this the start of my turbo going bad? Either way they're going to replace the turbo or if thats not the case they said it is easier to just replace the engline..?
Any input? Thanks.
