A-Pillar Trim Removal

On my 940, the driver's side A-pillar trim came off reasonably easily. Not so on my '90 740: it seems stuck about four inches down from the top of the windshield. Any tips on removal? I am trying to change out a broken ticket clip and don't want to smash the trim in the process.
