power seat problem 900

Hi All.
my daughters 94 940 has a driver side power seat and all the control switches are working, but when i push the seat button to go forward it stops short/goes half way.
this just started yesterday.
i looked and i there doesnt seem to be anything in the track to interfere with its forward movement.
any ideas?
