Timing Belts...round tooth versus square tooth design. 200 1993

Hello Bricksters:
In the 1993 240 series, the B230 engine was changed to the round tooth design timing belt. This is supposed to last 100K miles, instead of the 50K that the square tooth design from the previous 79-92 belt design.
I have sheared off the small tab on the crankshaft drive gear for the timing belt on my 93. A local machine shop has tig-welded on some metal, then shaped the metal to match the original. I plan to install this tomorrow.
A new drive gear for the 93 is $86 plus shipping.
However, I have a spare B230 (doesn't everyone?) with a good set of the pulleys and the crank drive gear, but for the square tooth belt. Should I just change the 3 pulleys, with a new belt to make the 93 use the square tooth belt? Is the round tooth a major improvement?
What would a Brickster do (WWBD)??
gracias,
el raidman
