Which B230 engine to rebuild?? 700 1986

I am redoing an 86 740 station wagon...repainted Caribbean blue,new IPD swaybars,etc,etc. Now for the problem. The Previous Owner had installed an 87 240 B230 (with the 240 type of distributor). I've just bought an 85 740 with 130K miles on the OEM engine (with the 740 type distributor). Also just scored an engine rebuild kit (rings,engine bearings,gaskets,etc) off eBay.
Which engine should I rebuild this summer when I will have the time?
