Today put a smile on my face.
Rolled the 544 out of the carport - been in there since November. Cold, but at least the snow and rain don't get to it.
Pulled the plugs, put a little oil in the cylinders - turned it by hand.
Hooked up the three year old 6V battery.
Cranked it in 5 second spurts until the oil pressure came up and saw fuel in pump.
Put the plugs back in.
Choke - 3 or 4 spins......it fires up and sounds great!
Took it for a spin and everything is working.
Winter is officially over as far as I'm concerned.
