88 244 GL 225,000 Had a problem about a month and a half ago. The alt and brake lights were flickering and it was not charging. I replaced the volage reg and brushes (old ones were about 2mm) and the problem was gone. Now today I start the car and the same lights are blinking on and off but stop when I rev the engine, then they go out for good. When I get home I check to see if it is charging and it is not. If I ground the little red wire at the alt the lights all come on like they are supposed to but if the wire is hooked up to the alt the lights are not on with key on engine off. Does this sound like a bad alt now? And what else can I do to trouble shoot this? Thanks
