The past few weeks, overdrive would shudder on engagement. Backing off on the accelerator a bit allowed it to engage smoother, but accelerating felt like I was lugging the engine. Ie. I had to engage at higher speeds (over 60 mph) from 4th.
Yesterday, I overfilled the tranny thinking that maybe that would help. Transmission was quieter and smoother in the morning. A bit of shudder but not as bad.
Anyhow, on the hwy this afternoon switched to overdrive and got some major noise. Quickly disengaged. All lower gears fine. Didn't want to risk trying overdrive again in case tranny got destroyed.
So, can I try overdrive again without ending up stranded?
