Hello all-
I have the opportunity to acquire a free Volvo from my college friend's parents. It's an '87 740 GLE sedan; they're the original owners, it's automatic and has only 141k miles on it. It's been a New Jersey car its whole life and doesn't get driven much anymore (only about 3k miles/year).
Last time I saw it (two weekends ago) it was running okay, but the original paint is faded and tired, dash is cracked, typical issues of a 19-year-old car. But it runs and drives- that's the most important part. My friend's folks are getting to the point where they just want to give it away to a Volvo enthusiast such as myself. Well if it's running, taking a free car with 141k miles isn't such a bad risk, is it? What do you think?
