Hello I wasn't sure if I should put this in 200 or 700 since most of the questions regard to the turbo LH 2.2 fuel system from a 700 series vehicle. Anyways I got everything wired up to both the fuel ecu and spark ecu and it starts and idles great. There seemed to be quite a bit of smoke coming out of the exhaust so I tested the o2 sensor and it’s stuck on 0.8 volts, indicating a rich condition. The greentop injectors were cleaned and tested by CruzinPerformance.com, the fpr is brand new from FCP Groton, and the amm was from a known working vehicle.
I just want to confirm I have the correct coolant temp sensors for use with turbo lh 2.2. I have the single spade terminal sensor that goes to my gauge cluster and then the blue Engine Coolant Temp with two mini spade terminals. I looked up information in the FAQ and say on parts sites this sensor and was wondering if this is supposed to be hooked up as well: http://img.thepartsbin.com/live/P403630437SWF.JPG?
I went ahead and did the tests the FAQ tells me to do with the sensor and ECU pins. For the first test, I tested fuel ECU pins 13 and 5 with the ignition on and got a reading of 11.93 volts. According to the FAQ it should be around 4 volts since the temp of it was around 50°F. I then went to test the resistance of the two terminals and it would not show a reading at all. I then turned the ignition off, plugged the ecu connector back in, unplugged the ECT sensor harness and turned the ignition back on and tested the voltage between pin 1 (white wire on sensor) and ground and it read 4.72v, that seemed to be about right but then I did the resistance test and got no reading whatsoever once again. I was supposed to get around a 5000 ohm reading but got nothing and I tried the multimeter on all ohm settings.
So I am not sure what that points the finger at if I do in fact have the correct sensors and everything wired up like I should. Any help would be great appreciated because I need to get this thing tuned correctly so I can get a temporary trip permit, go to an exhaust shop and get a nice system with cat, then go through emissions!
Thank You, Shane.
EDIT: I found this wiring diagram for LH 2.2 and it shows the coolant temp sensor on the upper left portion, number 84 on the diagram. I am not very good at reading diagrams like this but can someone tell me exactly what 'connector' I should be looking for it says its connected to:
