1992 965, RIP 900 1992

After thinking real hard I finally decided to have my 1992 965 repaired. According to a certified Volvo-mechanic it suffered from a leaking headgasket or a cracked cilinderhead. Though it was to be a very expensive repair, I have found no decent alternative for this car.

Yesterday I took it to a different Volvo-mechanic (for practical reasons), and took their S40 2.0D to drive to work. I absolutely hated the ride of this thing... absolutely everything is hard and ackwardly small. So I was even more prepared to pay for the repair. However, my mechanic called me later with very bad news. The engine itself is leaking, possibly due to corrosion of coolant. So Spook, you were right.

I'm very sad about this. Because it's my first car, because I took my girlfriend to the hospital twice in it for the birth of my kids, ...

An engine swap is even more expensive, almost as much as a small new car. So I'm not going to consider that. Instead, I'll sell it for parts.
