Mahle Pistons 120-130

Just fishing for some opinions...I checked my new Mahle pistons last night (figuring out compression ratios etc.) and I have a few questions. First of all, the height from the top of the piston to the top of the wrist pin is 0.025" shorter than the pistons that were originally installed. These pistons are otherwise correct (they are for an 8-bolt crank - 24 mm wrist pins and are 0.030 oversize).

Has anyone else had this experience?

I'll get my machine shop to set the deck clearance correctly, but it seems odd that the pistons would be that far off. By the way, they are going into a 6-bolt crank block - in case the block deck heights are different...enlighten me.

Craig
