Brake Booster or Check Valve?? 140-160

Hello all. the other day the engine started to idle ~300 RPM's faster with my foot on the brake. Also my check valve on my brake booster has always rattled loudly at idle. Could the high idle (vacume leak) be cause by the check valve or just a failed diaphram in the booster? Thought, ideas, and ways to diagnose this problem are welcome.
