SU's get Polished 120-130

Here's the results of a weekend of labour (and I only got one done!). The carbs were very badly corroded, but were still working great.

After a couple of hours with a small wire brush and some phosphoric acid, they started to look a little better. Then I buffed the body with felt bobs and my trusty buff wheel (white diamond polish) and they started to look pretty good. I finihed them off with new stainless bolts everywhere and painted the linkage to match the engine. The best part was replacing the little strip of nylon in the idle adjusting screw - weed wacker line is great stuff!

My wife is still shaking her head.

Craig
