Coolant issues (maybe heater core???) S90-V90 1997

Ok, some more headaches for me....my 1997 960 sedan...
I got it running this morning and went back in the house briefly, I came back to leave and I thought it was on fire! However, it was a mist of coolant in the air- judging from that sweet smell- just swell for me, huh. Heck even the rearview mirror was fogged over (though it is raining, and A LOT here in Mass.)

I reckon that it is the heater core, yep, which was replaced- allegedly,
by a now 'former' mechanic...although no evidence of the proverbial
"coolant on the floor mats!"

Anyone have any other thoughts and or suggestions?!?!?
