Hello all. I'm working on a '79 260. Before I go anywhere on it, I want to make sure the engine is ok, as I know they have quite a reputation for going bad. It had been rebuilt 30 to 35 thousand miles ago. From what I know, the camshaft is the weak point on these V6 engines. Is there anyway to check it out short of pulling off both valve covers? Is there anything else I need to check on these things that would mean a terminal diagnosis on the engine? Thank you very much in advance.
