a/c compressor broken, power steering? 200 1987

The a/c compressor on my 1987 240 dl wagon, recently jammed up, frying the a/c commpressor belt. I never use the a/c and don't want to, but the power steering connects to a/c compressor and has stopped working. Is there a way to get the power steering back without replacing the whole a/c compressor? Thanks,
