89 240 removed #4 and # 7 fuses,car keeps running...what is up ? 200

car has intermitent stalling problem...the ipd catalogue suggests checking the amperage at the fuses for the two fuel pumps by removing the fuse and placing the leads from the multimeter in exchange for the fuse...so i tried that ,i think i fried my harbor freight multimeter and now my check engine light is on ...help!...kris
