Slow starting 960 900

Just purchased a 92 960 a few weeks ago and find it very slow to start. Most times it will not start on first crank but will almost always start on second crank. Does not seem to be check valve related. It sometimes trys to start just as I turn the key from the start to run position but dies before I can get back to the run position. I suspect the ignition switch or maybe a relay in between the switch and the ignition. Any advice as to where to look would be appreciated. Thanks.
