780 driver door: shell or complete 700

Hi...I located a driver door for my 780. The yard has two doors but one has already been removed and I think from the label it might be a 1988. I have the 1989 model with the horizontal door lock rocker switch. He says it is cheaper to sell me the shell of the door and that it isnt hard for me to swap out the window and regulator and wiring loom. Question. How hard it it really? or shound I spend the extra money and buy the door complete..thanks...Jeffrey..
