O/D solenoid puzzler 700 1992

I bought and installed a new O/D solenoid for my '92 745 Turbo automatic. The car went into overdrive for one 5-mile trip, and then stopped working again. I removed, cleaned out (blew through the holes, etc., as recommended in FAQ), sprayed a little silicone grease on, and reinstalled. No luck. I can hear the relay clicking in the dashboard, but I cannot hear anything under the car.

Any ideas? Thanks
