I'm going to do this repair (front and rear lower control arm bushings on both sides) over the weekend. I know that I'm supposed to apply dish soap on the bushings to make installation easier.
Do I have to pull the whole control arm just to replace the bushings? Or can I leave it on the car, tap the old bushings out, and slide the new ones in? I was thinking that I might try to create and impromptu press using a 2x4 and some long woodworking clamps. Otherwise, can I tap the bushings in with a light hammer?
I'm also doing the sway bar bushings, but that looks pretty straightforword.
