inner distributor problem 200 1982

so, from what i can gather there is this thing called a hall switch inside there, which i broke. well i broke it, or the rotor cap broke the contact when it broke in half the other day. so. can anyone help me with a little experience? is it a hall switch, or a hall sensor, or an impulse sensor? or should i just call it the piece of crap that keeps me immoble and hostile? i havent looked under the little metal shield to see if it's the dome looking thing i see in the parts catologue... is this a hard thing to do with only redneck tools that are rusting in the yard? lemme know please
