NAPA Rebuilt starter dies a few days after installation

I guess I should have listened to the many folks who say to only get a Volvo or Bosch remanufactured unit. The NAPA "Professional Grade" starter I recently installed on our '93 240 died after only a half dozen starts. Died hard and suddenly. One moment it worked fine, the next ... stone dead. NAPA is going to give me a new one (out of stock, argh), but of course the time and grief is all mine.

The pain of it is that the only reason I replaced the thing is that the starter was already out to replace the automatic transmission fill tube and I thought that with 151,000 miles on it a rebuilt unit now would save me the pain of getting the darn thing out of there again.

Now I wonder how long the replacement unit is going to be good for.

John
