1996 960 271K. The driver's side front wheel is producing a rotational noise which is perceptive within the 45-55 mph band. Noise is diminished at speeds below 45 mph and decreases with speeds above 55 mph; but is present throughout. Right turns increase the noise. I've pulled the wheel and rotated the wheel. There is no crunching or grinding (no weight on the wheel probably will not allow the noise to be produced); but with the wheel on, while driving through a walled alley there was no grinding noise that I could discern. Rotors, brakes and mechanicals appeared in fine order. I replaced the tires (thought I may have shifted bands in the tires) balanced and aligned them: still the noise continues. Any thoughts would be most welcome. This has been a magnificient automobile to me: its part of the family.
