Funny / odd find while working on the instrument cluster 200 1990

Okay, I know there are a lot of issues that people have dealt with on these instrument clusters. In this case, a 1000 mile round trip resulted in a broken odo gear, a psychotic temperature compensation board, and a blown bulb. Based on the above, I pulled the instrument cluster out, replaced the gear, replaced the bulb, and bypassed the compensation board. What I found funny was the white silk screen printing on the face of the temperature guage: Temp-Faker. Not sure if Faker means temp in Swedish, but it does ring true to the Fake readings a compensated temp gauge normally provides no matter if it is working properly or not!

Easily amused,

jorrell
