In the 3 years i've had this '87 240DL 5-speed 230f the early morning starting was fine, if not instantaneous, with exception of clutch to pressure plate warm up while in 1,2,3 gears ... but I'm not sure that recently after a series of slightly slower starts and an almost terminal yet tempermental throttle response in the first few minutes is leading to a clogged or blown cold start injector... can these things be cleaned like the IAC valves on domestic cars? or are they a cheap overhaul?
also ever since i installed the Hydra wheels my steering groans intermittently during 5mph or lower travel... sounds kinda like a movie sound effect for an old ship... my hearing tells me it's coming from the passenger side but I was curious to ask if replacing the power steering pump bushings would after this? I've put the stethoscope on it while running and the pump is actually quieter than my tahoe's brand new one... Maybe I'll figure it out when I go to replace the from shock inserts (Any brand & model suggestions? Koni? Bilstien?)
Thanks to all that respond..
Tim
