740 Wheels For 240 200

I am currently running 15" alloy wheels off an '89 740 on my 245. I was looking to buy another set for my snow tires, but was told by the guy at All Swedish in Florida that these aren't 'balanced' for a 240, and would chew up my wheel bearings. He did recommend a 15" set (that he just happened to have) from a 940. Is there anything to this or is he yankin' my chain? Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks in advance- Daniel
